The Land of Ablis

This long circuit from Ablis, north of the city, extends to Orphin in the Drouette valley.

Description of the hike

(1) From the church square, head north. Turn left rue Pierre Trouvé and leave the town on the D168. Go over the N10 and when the road bends to the left, continue along a path. Near the A11, join the D168 to cross the motorway. After the bridge, take the road to the right for a few meters then go down the first path on the left. Cross the ru du Perray and follow the path in the hollow of the valley to a small road.

(2) Take it to the right to climb to the plateau then turn left into a forest path which then leads, across fields, to the La Chesnaye farm, then to Craches. In the village, follow the D101 to the left then, at the roundabout, the road leading to Cerqueuse on the right. After 600m, take the path to the right, then another to the left, leading north to Cerqueuse. In sight of the village, turn into the road on the left to enter it. Turn right rue de Marchais Parfond, then at the crossroads at the exit of the village, take the road leading to Orphin, on the right. 250m further on, continue along a path leading to the crossroads, located at the northern end of the FosseBidout wood.

(3) Turn right to reach Orphin. Follow the D176 to the right for a few meters.

(4) Turn right onto rue de la Garenne, in the direction of Cerqueuse. Leave it after 250m, at a cross, for a path and continue in the same direction for 3,5km. Just before La Belle Image, turn right, in a path along a street, then left on the D101. Cross the N10 and turn right, towards Ménainville. After 1 km, take a path on the left to Baudicourt. Cross the hamlet and, at the exit, turn right into a path. After 500m, turn left, then reach a crossroads.

(5) Take the path on the right leading to Chatonville. At the roundabout adorned with a tree, continue along the small road. Skip Boiteaux to the next crossroads. Follow the road to the left, go past La Mare, join the D988, cross it and go right to cross the A11. Shortly after the bridge, take a disused road to the left, passing above the platform of an old railway line and entering Guéherville.

(6) Leave the village on Chemin de la Grande Plaine, on the right. Take the road to the right, then the second path to the left, between two hedges (former railway platform).
Continue for 2,1 km, then pass under the D988. Take a road on the left, for a few meters, then continue on the path on the right. Cross a road and enter Ablis.
Take, on the left, for a few meters, the rue de l'Ile de France, then the path on the right and then the alley at
left which continues via rue du Vieux chemin de Paris. Pass the cemetery and follow the Petit Croissant promenade on the right. At its end, turn left onto rue du Guichet then, via Passage Parichet, reach the church of Ablis. (1)
