Saint-Lubin is a traditional festival which takes place every two years. You will discover eras of the past through activities, tastings…
Every two years since 1990, the town of Rambouillet wears its old clothes to offer Rambolitans and visitors a retrospective on the theme of agricultural shows.
On the occasion of this festive meeting with its history, the whole city: elected officials, traders, associations, individuals, plays the game of dressing up.
For a day, the mulched streets regain a little air of yesteryear in a joyful and festive atmosphere.
Each Saint-Lubin takes up a different era but always finds itself around its livestock market where sheep, fatted oxen, donkeys, as well as a wide variety of draft horses rub shoulders.
A costumed parade, to which everyone is invited, leaves around 11 a.m. from the station square, to cross the city to the town hall, where a country meal is served. In the afternoon, the official competition rewards the most beautiful draft horses.
If the Place de la Libération becomes for one day the center of a cattle market, free events dot the city, horse rides, ox cart rides, various tastings...
There are also many artisans, as well as typical local products.
Exhibitions transport the visitor, who leaves the 21st century to immerse himself in History. Along the streets, he might well come across a blacksmith, a combine harvester, old cars, and even unusual objects like the treadmill...
Theme and program to come…
