La Route of the 2nd DB takes the path followed by General Leclerc's 2nd Armored Division during the Liberation of France, from its landing in Normandy on August 1, 1944 at Saint-Martin-de-Varreville (Utah Beach), the Liberation of Paris on August 25, 1944 until the fights in Alsace, including the capture of Strasbourg on November 23, 1944.
In November 1804, Napoleon 1er discovered for the first time the Château de Rambouillet, registered in the civil list of the residences of the Crown since Louis XVI.
