The Brame du cerf takes place in the fall in the forest. Whether with Espace Rambouillet or with an independent guide, you have the opportunity to enjoy this activity.
The slab is the call made by deer to attract the attention of females during the mating season. But it can also be a cry of intimidation aimed at other males who are around. Thus, when the rutting season arrives, these brawls dominate the forest. And for people who aren't used to it, it's still quite impressive roars that are usually accompanied by deafening noises of wood banging.
When autumn comes, the forest of Rambouillet is sometimes taken by storm by tourists and the most passionate. The reason is simple: it's mating season for deer. The males are discussing the place of the "dominant" and we hear, at the bottom of the forest, an indescribable cry, between a mooing cow and a braying donkey. It is the Slab of the deer, the cry made by the deer to show its supremacy.
The Forest of Rambouillet is home to more than 200 animals, including deer. Majestic animals living in the undergrowth, the latter have a rather particular way of showing their attraction and of seducing each other when the mating season arrives.
Between mid-September and mid-October, the Yvelin forest is then the center of a spectacle very popular with nature lovers: the Brame!
To make the most of this show, the animal park Space Rambouillet organizes at this time of the year outings in the forest in the early morning or in the evening.
And naturally, at the end of each walk, a breakfast in the middle of nature or a meal by the fire is organized. (Advance reservation required – limited number of people)
In the forest, you can listen to the stag's slab between mid-September and mid-October.
Stag outings are an activity offered to people over 12 years old.
You can listen to the roar of the deer in the early morning or in the evening.
