Laurent Chevallier takes you to meet the red-backed shrike.
The Red-backed Shrike has one of the most chilling names in European birdlife. Evoking Jack the Ripper, the name reflects a very particular character trait of this species... And what beautiful plumage: the elegantly drawn black wolf marking over its eyes further accentuates its highwayman side. A "bad boy" you absolutely must discover!
Of course, the bird is just a starting point, a pretext for getting outdoors. During the outing, we will also look at other bird species, insects if the weather is favorable (butterflies and dragonflies), flowers, trees, mammals that we might encounter, and ecology in general.
Binoculars will be a definite plus on the outing, as well as a camera if you wish (we can also talk about nature photography and cover the necessary technical points).
Allow 5 kilometers on foot for the entire outing
Morning outing (09am to 12pm) departing from Les Bréviaires (78).
The meeting place will be specified upon registration.
