Manor of Sainte-Mesme - Museum of military costume

The Manor opens its doors to you for a unique and fascinating visit! Discover French, British, German and American military uniforms from 1870 to the present day… More than 90 life-size mannequins equipped from head to toe await you!

The manor of Sainte-Mesme is a private residence belonging to General and Countess Louis de Lambilly. The building is a rare model of XNUMXth century civil architecture in Ile-de-France. The building is made up of an octagonal tower, a spiral staircase, half-timbering and French ceilings.

During the guided tour, you will discover life-size mannequins dressed in military uniforms of the time. Nearly two centuries of history are presented to you from the museum's collections. The museum's collections come partly from donations from visitors, family souvenirs, ceramic objects, ex-voto from the Gallo-Roman period and prehistoric flint.

Indeed, research carried out during the restoration of the manor revealed the existence of a source frequented since the Palaeolithic. The site would be placed on ancient Gallo-Roman baths.
