Rambolitrain Museum

The Rambolitrain museum is a unique site in France. It reconstructs for your pleasure with more than 4000 collector's items and 400 meters of tracks, the fabulous and perpetual history of the railway.

Located in Rambouillet and dedicated to what are commonly called “electric trains”, the Rambolitrain museum has a unique collection of toy trains and model railways in France. Through more than 4 pieces, which have earned it the “museum of France” label, it presents an overview of the artisanal and industrial production of these miniature objects from the 000th century until the 1950s and 1960s, which mark the end of the golden age of the toy train. Added to these collections is a functional network of more than 400 meters of tracks, a model maker's dream come true. The locomotives and wagons, tracks, stations and the entire railway environment are recreated here at 1/43 scale with extraordinary precision.

The Rambolitrain strives to offer tour packages adapted to different audiences, various workshops and activities, as well as festive events.
Game booklets are available according to the ages of young visitors. Adapted workshops and activities (baby visit, kid visit, birthdays, Lego workshops, escape game, etc.), as well as garden train days are also regularly offered.

Not to be missed: The "Vapeur Vive" Festival on the 1st Sunday of October where you can discover steam in all its forms and board a garden steam train.
