The Alfred Manessier workshop, a place suspended in time!

Push open the doors of Alfred Manessier's studio in the small village of Emancé and discover his artistic universe.
On the shelves, the color powders are lined up in an order that only makes sense to the artist, the brushes and sponges have long been dry.
In the studio of the non-figurative painter, who was one of the greatest French representatives of lyrical abstraction, time seems to have stood still.

Since 2024, the workshop has joined the “Maison des illustres” club.
The “Maisons des Illustres” label was created on September 13, 2011. Through this distinction, the Ministry of Culture wishes to promote places whose vocation is to preserve and transmit the memory of women and men who have distinguished themselves in the political, scientific, social and cultural history of France.
