The Rambolitrain museum is a unique site in France. It reconstructs for your pleasure with more than 4000 collector's items and 400 meters of tracks, the fabulous and perpetual history of the railway.
It is on the first floor that you will find the collection of toy trains tracing the history of 100 years of games and Christmas enchanting children.
The toys are presented in display cases, and 2 JEP and HORNBY electrical networks are in operation thanks to a timer system that you trigger yourself.
The 2nd floor is devoted to the network-model.
Many scenes are depicted. The passengers say their farewells before going to settle comfortably in a few cars of the Compagnie Internationale des Wagons Lits, towards new horizons, perhaps the Orient… It is 22:44 p.m. Attention departure for a marvelous journey in the world of the miniature train…
2 garden trains run on the Rambolitrain garden network: a steamer and a petrol shunter.
The steam train works like the real ones thanks to a coal heater. It takes 1 hour to heat it up, 3 hours of cleaning afterwards, and 1 experienced staff.
The shunter, running on gasoline, is easier to set up. the train only runs on certain dates, weather permitting (school holidays, retro Rambolitrain, museum night, heritage days, etc.)
