A little bit of history

Rochefort

The Rochefort forest is steeped in history. It was the property of many historical figures over the centuries, such as Gui le Rouge in the 1th century, favorite of Philippe XNUMXst and Hercule de Rohan in the XNUMXth century, companion of Henri IV.

Visits to the Tourist Office

This afforestation is attached to the vast massif of the Rambouillet Forest and is composed of many mounds formerly called butards. They offer an atypical landscape of moorland with heather very favorable to wild bees and the domestic black bee. From the summits, walkers or riders discover remarkable views of the village of Rochefort and the Rabette valley. At the bend of a path, it is not uncommon to come across a particularly rare bird in Ile-de-France, the nightjar, which nests on this site.

Discover the four dragons trail, by logging on to the connected walk application. The forest will have no more secrets for you.
