Formerly the scene of royal, imperial and then presidential hunts, this area of more than 800 hectares is today an extraordinary site for its landscape diversity and its fauna and flora biodiversity.
To preserve this place, the reception of the public is limited to the use of the horse-drawn carriage as the only means of discovery. A privilege !
Formerly the scene of prestigious royal, imperial and presidential hunts, marked by history and small stories, the National Estate of Rambouillet is a secret oasis of more than 800 ha, remarkable for its landscape diversity.
This diversity is the result of the past which has combined agriculture, forestry and hunting over the centuries: small agricultural plots surrounded by hedges favorable to organic farming, numerous ponds, high forests and heather moors, star-shaped crossroads created at the time hunting with hounds, "shots" witnessing the evolution of hunting techniques...
Its royal, imperial and then presidential character also protected this area and favored the development of a unique biodiversity. Today, the entire estate is classified as a Natura 2000 zone and is home to many rare species. To preserve this biodiversity, the reception of the public remains limited to the use of the horse-drawn carriage as a means of discovery.
