Following a family accident, Icarus, alias Courgette, finds himself in a "home for flayed children" where he meets Simon, Ahmed, and the mysterious Camille. Where play and poetry become a necessity, they will learn to build themselves, to "elevate themselves" and to "re-stitch" their hearts... And then there is Raymond, the policeman, who will gradually take on the role of surrogate father, and who, thanks to Courgette, will also regain a taste for life...
